Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has ruled out the possibility of defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayose described the PDP as a carcass due to the party’s recurring leadership crisis.
Addressing journalists after visiting President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Fayose said: “Let me first of all clear this, Ayodele Fayose is not moving from the PDP to any political party, this year I’m 65.”
The crisis in the PDP has lasted since the build-up to the 2023 presidential election over the party’s inability to get its zoning formula right.
“I believe that if they don’t quickly take steps, the party in itself will become a carcass,” Fayose added.
Fayose emphasized that he won’t defect to any other party, stating, “I’m not in the frontline anymore and the little contribution I could have made, I did while on the seat.”
