Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The move comes barely 24 hours after ADC was unveiled in Abuja, with former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other prominent Nigerians leading the new movement.
Ihedioha addressed leaders of his grassroots-based Rebuild Imo Movement (RIM) structure at his Civil Centre residence, urging them to take the gospel of ADC to the grassroots.
“Our party is now ADC. That is the way to go. That is the party for all of us,” he said.
Ihedioha thanked the leaders and followers for their support and patience while they waited for a new political platform.
He noted that the RIM structure, which has representation in all 305 wards in the state, is strong, viable, and functional across the 27 local government areas and three geo-political zones.
Ihedioha urged the leaders to go home and invigorate the RIM structure, which he described as highly effective and superb.
