Former Senate Spokesperson Ayogu Eze Passes Away at 66

Ayogu Eze, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and former Senate spokesperson, has passed away at the age of 66.

Representing the Enugu North Senatorial District from 2007 to 2015, Eze breathed his last on Thursday at an Abuja hospital after battling an undisclosed illness.

Eze, recognized as one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party, further solidified his political career when he was appointed as a federal Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, a position confirmed by the Senate in May 2023.

During his tenure in the Senate, Eze’s contributions were significant, serving as the chairman of the Senate Committee of Works. Additionally, he played integral roles as a member of various committees, including Constitutional Amendment, Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs, showcasing his dedication to national development and governance.
