A serious tension in the Uromi community following the arrest of a Fulani man allegedly caught with a large sum of money while emerging from the bush.
The arrest, made by members of the Esan Youth Awareness Vigilante Group, has risen concerns of a possible cover-up by unidentified authorities.
According to the vigilante leaders, who shared a video of the incident with Truth Live News on Saturday, the suspect was intercepted along a bush path after locals raised suspicion about his movements. Upon searching him, they discovered a huge amount of cash concealed in his possession.
The arrest comes amid rising concerns over criminal activities in parts of Edo State, where local vigilante groups have increasingly taken up security responsibilities to complement formal security agencies.
