The Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has reacted to the allegation that himself other five G-5 governors have declared support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The G-5 governors were said to have traveled down to the United Kingdom to hold a ‘strategic meeting’ to decide on which of the Presidential candidates it would support with thep election being barely 60 days from now.

Earlier, reports had it that the five governors had held a meeting with the APC Flag-bearer in UK Bola Ahmed Tinubu thus sparking rumours of their support for him.
However, Truth Live News gathered that Governor Samuel Ortom in a telephone conversation with Nigerian Tribune disclosed that there is no form of agreement between their camp and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ortom noted that their decision to support any candidate will be made to the public by themselves.
He said, ”It’s not true. There is nothing like that. As experienced as we are, if we are doing anything, we will let the public know.”
Meanwhile, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) being obviously unsettled by the rumour has given a sign of a possible sanction on the five governors if they try to play anti-party politics.
PDP gave the warning while the 5-G Governors were reportedly away for their meeting in the UK.
