Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has openly confessed to Speaker House of Representative, Femi Gbajabiamila that he was part of those that plotted against his speakership ambition.
Speaking during the commissioning of legislative quarters for Members of Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor Wike said it to the face of Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila that he never for once regretted plotting against him as he will do same again if given chance because they are not from same party.
Gov Wike Said: “I was one of those who plotted that you should not be Speaker. I have no regrets because my business is not to to help your party that time and even now. It was in Rivers State Government House Lodge in Abuja where we plotted that you should not go. PDP governors sold me out. They went behind and supported you even when we had agreed as a party that Femi should not go (as Reps Speaker), Lawan should not go (as Senate President)
“And that was why you made Ndudi Elumelu the Minority Leader. Even when we wrote you a letter that that is not what we wanted. People don’t like the truth but the truth must be told at all times. You disregarded our party’s letter and made Ndudi Elumelu Minority Leader.
“Mr Speaker, I told you this before we came here that I plotted against you. If I see another way to plot, I will plot because you are in a different party, I am in a different party. Anything that will make you not to be comfortable is my business as opposition.”
