A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, General Nuhu Angbazo (rtd), has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
Angbazo revealed his intentions during a meeting with critical stakeholders of his immediate community, Wakama, held at the palace of the District Head, Adams Maka Nangba.
Addressing the gathering, the retired General of the Nigerian Army stated that he possesses the capacity, experience, and knowledge required to govern Nasarawa effectively.
“I have come to formally inform you of my desire to contest the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State,” Angbazo said.
“I am seeking your support and prayers because this journey is not mine alone but for all of us. Together, we can build a Nasarawa that works for everyone.”
The retired military officer promised to tackle the state’s challenges, including insecurity, unemployment, and infrastructural deficits, if given the mandate.
The meeting was attended by stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and residents from different walks of life, who commended Angbazo for his bold step in seeking to “rescue” Nasarawa State from its current challenges.
Angbazo’s declaration adds a significant name to the growing list of aspirants vying for the governorship seat currently occupied by Governor Abdullahi Sule, as the 2027 political race begins to gather momentum.
