Gov. Eno Of A’Ibom Terminates Road Contracts, Says His Govt Don’t Take Loan From Bank

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has terminated the contract for Nsit Atai/Okobo/Oron Road Projects.

The reason he gave is that he wants the roads to be re-awarded and be delivered in record time.

The announcement of the termination of the roads contract contained in his message at the funeral ceremony in honour of late Mrs Deborah Ekaette Imaikop Enoidem.

Late Mrs Enoidem was the mother -In-law of the Immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem.

Akwa Ibom state government house press unit made this public via a Facebook post on Saturday.

For instance, Governor Eno listed out projects undertaken by his administration in the Oro Federal Constituency.

The roads he mentioned include the 2.1km Ukpong Street, 2.1km Essang Street, and Orukim-Uyenge Universal Energy Road.

Also, in the list are Okopedi Road, by East West road, Secretariat Oruko Eweme Road, and re-modernization of Oron Bridge.

Moreso, the unit quoted the governor as saying “I thank the Oro people, our in- laws.”

“I’m working for you, as I do with the entire state, and I will continue to work for you.”

“I will serve you in Oro Nation by building on the foundation of my predecessor. We will do much more,” he added.

Again, “We will continue to use the State money for this State.”

He further announced that he will create jobs, and that government will support hardworking people who are ready to work.

“There is no local government in the State which at least two projects are not ongoing.”

Also, “people are working and making a living from those projects,” said the Governor.

Again, he said he is spending money on projects.

Accordingly , “I believe that we can use the resources we have in this State to work for the our people.”

“All the projects we have been doing, we are proud to say, we have not taken one loan from any bank in the last 10 months.

Meanwhile, the Governor has highlighted his past memories and relationship with the Ekuwem’s family.

While he spoke glowingly of the life and times of Late Mrs Deborah-Ekaette Enoidem, he described her as caring and loving mother.

He urged the family to take solace knowing that they are not alone and their mother was transiting to a much better place.
