CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State pledged to uphold democratic values as Nigeria marked Democracy Day on Thursday.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, Otu praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio for their leadership.
“Democracy Day reminds us of how far we’ve come and how much work we must do to keep our democracy alive,” Otu stated.
He said democracy goes beyond elections, insisting it must guarantee rights, equality, and the rule of law for every Nigerian.
