Governor Otu To Mark Second Anniversary With Project Tours, Town Hall Meeting

CALABAR, CROSS RIVER STATE – Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has approved a series of activities to mark his second year in office, starting May 26.

Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, the Commissioner for Information, disclosed this in a press statement issued in Calabar on May 16.

The week-long celebration begins with a media tour of completed projects led by Ekpang and heads of relevant ministries, departments, and agencies.

On May 27, children will gather at U.J. Esuene Stadium for the National Children’s Day celebration, highlighting the governor’s youth-focused initiatives.

Later that day, the Forum of Special Assistants will unveil the “Cross River Magazine” at Hogis Royale Banquet Hall by 5:00 p.m.

Governor Otu will inspect and commission major projects across the state on May 28 as part of his administration’s performance evaluation.

The celebration culminates May 29 with a statewide broadcast at 7:00 a.m. and a town hall meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“The town hall will feature scorecard presentations by selected MDAs,” said Ekpang, noting it will be co-coordinated by the State Planning Commission.

Dignitaries including lawmakers, judges, local government chairmen, and civil society leaders have been invited to attend the events.

“The people remain at the heart of our governance,” Governor Otu said earlier, reaffirming his ‘People First’ policy approach.
