Following the death of Ruth Otabor, younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, her partner, Daniel Adebo, has publicly accused his sister-in-law of neglect and misrepresentation. Adebo claimed he was solely responsible for Ruth’s upkeep and education in the last three years until her passing.
In a statement, Adebo alleged that he bore the financial burden of paying Ruth’s tuition fees, catering to her needs, and supporting both her child from a previous relationship and the one they had together. He challenged Phyna to provide proof of financial contributions to her late sister, insisting that if she could, he would “bow his head in shame.”
“I have been the one paying her tuition for three years. It wasn’t until two months ago, when she was preparing for graduation, that Phyna sent her a gown and wig. I also took care of her son, even before we had a child together. If I am lying, Ruth’s mother is my witness—unless she has been influenced to say otherwise. I challenge Phyna to show screenshots of the money she sent Ruth in the last three years,” Adebo declared.
His remarks directly counter Phyna’s earlier claims that he had been irresponsible in his role as a baby daddy. This bitter exchange would further deepen the controversy surrounding Ruth’s death, putting the family feud further into the public.
