No fewer than ten Yobe residents were reportedly eliminated suspected Islamic State Of West Africa (ISWAP) terrorists in Dogsa village of Gujba local government area in Yobe state.
The victims were said to have been ambushed by the terrorists when they went in search of one Mallam Shettima Dawi who went missing.
Dawi who went to scout for firewood was reportedly killed by the terrorists.
According to sources, Mawi’s disappearance caused relatives and neighbours to mobilize to go in search of him before they met their untimely death.
As of Friday (yesterday) the ten bodies have been recovered and buried, Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region said.
It was gathered that shortly after the burial, the terrorists stormed the community and warned residents that they no longer want to see anybody in the area.
The terrorists who came on motorcycles and Hilux trucks arrived in the community on Wednesday evening and urgedthe locals not to worry about their presence.
They also warned the villagers against revealing their presence to the security agencies because they only came their to hide from military onslaught.
