A 73-year-old Israel man, Avi Warshaviak, has died after falling ill at the Corinthia Villa Hotel in Abuja’s Garki area on Saturday.
Sources said Warshaviak was staying with his wife at the hotel when he suddenly developed a health issue around 9:51 a.m..
He was quickly rushed to Asokoro General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead shortly after arrival.
“The Chief Security Officer of the hotel, Okorie Emmanuel, reported the case to the Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at about 11:23 a.m.,” according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
Police officers visited both the hotel and the hospital, documented the scene, and transferred the body to the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
Police sources added that efforts are now being made to contact the Israel Embassy in Nigeria for necessary consular procedures.
