Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, warned his cabinet members on Thursday to submit their resignation letters if they are not prepared to work collaboratively to ensure the government’s success.
Speaking at a two-day retreat for state executives and other political appointees, Governor Namadi stressed the importance of mentoring and synergy among commissioners, special advisers, technical advisers, permanent secretaries, and directors.
He believes this collaboration is crucial for achieving meaningful development in Jigawa State.
The governor’s administration is centered around a 12-point agenda to make Jigawa great.
He made it clear that any commissioner unwilling to work in synergy with special advisers and technical assistants must resign.
Governor Namadi also called on permanent secretaries to adhere strictly to civil service rules and regulations, emphasizing the need to eliminate corruption from the service.
He advised permanent secretaries to mentor their directors and assistant directors, fostering a culture of guidance and support within the state’s bureaucracy.
Professor Murtala Sabo Sagagi, Director at the Central Bank, presented a paper titled “Aligning Leadership with Jigawa’s 12-Point Agenda” at the retreat.
He stressed the importance of teamwork in achieving the Jigawa 12-point agenda, highlighting the need for collective effort and collaboration.
