A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and one of the grassroot mobilizes in the state, Chief Okosor Edwin Azies, has resigned his membership position from the party, and also turned down appointment into the Media and Publicity Committee of the PDP Senatorial Campaign Council for the Senatorial candidate, as signed by the Publicity Secretary, State Caretaker Committee,on behalf of the State Working Committee.

Azies made this known via a letter addressed to the acting PDP Chairman in Ubiaja Ward 7, and made available to Truth Live News Monday.

The letter reads;

“I write to intimate you of my decision to resign my membership from the *Peoples Democratic Party,*(PDP) with immediate effect..I also want to use this medium to turn down my appointment into the Media and Publicity Committee of the PDP Senatorial Campaign Council for the Senatorial candidate, as signed by the Publicity Secretary, State Caretaker Committee,on behalf of the State Working Committee.

“My consideration for resignation was heartbreaking and profoundly difficult,but was done after proper understanding of God’s continuous guidance which prompted series of consultations with Church Leaders, Family Members, Traditional Rulers, Political Associates, Contemporaries,Friends,Followers,and Well Wishers.

“It is noteworthy that since my membership and media activism in laundering the image of the party, and projecting the party’s candidates’ personalities at every election circle,I have never wavered inspite of the constant balkanization…The world knows my contribution to the party was genuinely rooted.

“At this juncture, I want to acknowledge and appreciate the leadership of the party for the opportunities given to me to serve in different capacities,though.

“However, like we read in the books how kinsmen fought the late sage, Professor Ambrose Folurunsho Alli, and in the recent past, Professor (Senator) Osariemen Osunbor,* both former governors of Bendel and Edo States respectively,I think it will be unfair for us to thread the same path and join forces to fight the incumbent governor,who is of Esan extraction, His Excellency,Senator Monday Okpebholo, and whose novel idea is taking Edo State to a higher pedestal and enviable height with unprecedented ongoing developments across various sectors of the subnational economy.

“Conclusively,I want to end this letter by referring all of us to Isaiah 1:18 and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Indeed,there is time for everything”.
