Just In: First Edo PDP Chairman, Solomon Aguele Is Dead

The first chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter, Chief Solomon Aguele is dead.

 

He died at the age of 88.

 

In a statement signed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the State Caretaker Committee of the party and made available to Journalists, he described Late Chief Aguele as someone who served the party with distinction and dedication from 1999 to 2007.

 

His words “Chief Solomon Aguele was a committed leader whose steadfastness, wisdom and devotion to democratic ideals laid the strong foundation upon which our party continues to stand today.

 

“His leadership during the formative years of our great party in Edo was pivotal to the growth and successes recorded.

 

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, political associates, and all who mourn his departure.

 

“Chief Aguele will be remembered for his humility, loyalty, and enduring contributions to the PDP and to the development of Edo State. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
