Tony Otuonye, the director of the Abia State Signage and Advertising Agency (ABSAA), was taken into custody earlier on Tuesday by the Department of State Service, DSS.

According to reports, Mr. Otuonye was detained in connection with a video in which he was seen threatening to slaughter and sacrifice any Abia voters who will vote against his preferred candidate, the People Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Chief Okey Ahiwe.

The Director declared at a rally held ahead of Saturday’s elections for the state assembly and governorship that his party’s candidate must prevail.

Speaking in Igbo language, the governor’s appointee exhorted PDP members and supporters to show no fear of the opposition.

“Instead of us not to succeed, we will sacrifice human beings as scapegoats.

“Instead of us to lose, we will use human heads for sacrifice, feed on their liver,” he said.

The video which went viral on the social media provoked a lot of Abia electorates who made the demand for his arrest loud.
