The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally recognized former Senate President, David Mark, as the new National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Alongside him, former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has been confirmed as the party’s National Secretary.

INEC’s acknowledgment, conveyed through an official notice released at its Abuja headquarters, marks a significant turning point for the ADC as it seeks to reposition itself ahead of future elections. The announcement comes after weeks of internal consultations within the party and signals a major shift in its leadership structure.

David Mark, a seasoned politician and two-term Senate President, is expected to bring his wealth of legislative and political experience into strengthening the ADC’s national outlook. His emergence, according to party stakeholders, is geared toward building a formidable third-force alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.

On his part, Aregbesola, who has a reputation for grassroots mobilization and administrative acumen, is anticipated to drive the operational framework of the party, with focus on youth inclusion, strategic alliances, and policy innovation.
