Just In: Kano Lawmaker, Shaaban Sharada Dumps APC, Picks Kano ADP Guber Ticket

Shaaban Sharada, a house of represebtative member representing Kano Municipal, has reportedly left the All Progressives Congress, APC, and joined the Action Democratic Party, ADP.

According to Daily Nigeria, Shaaban joined the ADP and picked the governorship ticket of the party shortly after leaving APC.

Credible sources at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office in Kano said Mr Shaaban will fly ADP governorship flag alongside his running-mate, Rabiu Bako.

Mr Sharada, who is the chairman of House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, contested for the APC gubernatorial ticket but lost to the deputy governor of the state, Nasiru Gawuna.

The outspoken lawmaker was a member of G-7, a factional APC group once led by former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau.

Mr Sharada, a dogged political fighter, had braved a though political huddle and internal opposition to win the APC Reps ticket in 2019 and later won at the general election with a wide margin.
