The General Overseer of a Church in Lagos has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for alleged drug trafficking.
On Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi reported the arrest in a brief social media post.
He stated that the general supervisor, along with several others, were caught in connection with an effort to export methamphetamine and skunk to Dubai.
“Church General Overseer busted! You go to seek refuge in the house of God and there the shepherd recruits you into drug trafficking,” he said in a post on his Facebook page.
“Anyway, the details of the arrest of Daddy GO & others by @ndlea_nigeria in Lagos yesterday over a busted attempt to export meth and skunk to Dubai will come in our statement at noon.”
Babafemi also posted videos of how the methamphetamine was concealed in kegs of palm oil.
In another video shared by the NDLEA spokesperson, drugs were found to be concealed in the lining of cartons.
The NDLEA is expected to release more information on the arrest alongside details of its anti-drug operations across the country
