In a recent development, one of President Bola Tinubu’s Ministers has been declared the winner of the Parliamentary election held on February 25th.
Simon Lalong, the former governor of Plateau State and Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, was one of seven governors who lost in their bids for senatorial seats.
Subsequently, Tinubu appointed him as the Minister of Labour.
However, the National and State Petition Election Tribunal in Jos made a significant decision on Monday.
They ousted Napoleon Bali, the incumbent senator representing Plateau South, and declared Simon Lalong as the new winner.
Napoleon Bali had contested the election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) banner, while Simon Lalong ran as a candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
