An unruly passenger, identified as Commy Emanson, has been charged to court following a disruptive incident aboard an Ibom Air flight. Emanson was remanded in Kirikiri Prison on Monday, following an order of the court pending further hearings.
According to multiple sources, the incident occurred during a recent Ibom Air service, when Emanson allegedly engaged in disorderly conduct that posed a safety risk to crew and passengers. The airline’s management, in a statement, confirmed the altercation and reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on unruly behaviour, stressing that such actions will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The case, brought before a magistrate court in Lagos, saw the prosecution request remand on grounds of ensuring public safety and deterring similar incidents in the aviation sector. Emanson will remain in custody at Kirikiri Prison until the next adjourned date. Aviation authorities have commended the swift legal action, describing it as a warning to potential offenders that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations strictly prohibit any interference with flight operations.
