The Kano State Censorship Board has stepped up efforts to curb indecent content on social media, particularly targeting youth.
Four TikTok users were arrested for posting allegedly indecent and immoral content on the platform.
The suspects, Hafsa Hamisu, Usman Majidadi, Sumayya Muhammad, and Usman Ibrahim, were charged before a court and pleaded guilty to the charges against them.
The Executive Chairman of the Censorship Board, Alhaji Abba El-Mustapha, stated that the arrests aimed to promote decency and discipline on social media.
The board pledged its perpetual commitment to enforcing laws that protect cultural and moral values to ensure that social media does not erode these values.
