Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the disbursement of vehicles to primary and secondary school teachers in the state under a special loan scheme worth ₦200 million.
“Providing vehicles for our teachers is a strategic step toward improving their working conditions and encouraging dedication to duty,” Governor Yusuf said.
The initiative is part of a broader agenda to improve the welfare of public school teachers, whom the governor described as the “backbone of every progressive society”.
“Their welfare is non-negotiable if we must achieve quality education for our children,” Governor Yusuf emphasized.
The state government has also spent ₦2 billion on the procurement of instructional materials recently distributed to public schools.
The vehicle loan scheme is one of several teacher-centered policies under the governor’s education reform plan, aimed at improving learning conditions across Kano.
