The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has declared its support for the emerging opposition coalition.

The party’s state chairperson, Hajiya Hawa’u Muhammad, popularly known as Yar Buga, stated that the ADC structure remains intact and has grown stronger following the defection of former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

She described the adoption of the ADC as the political platform for the coalition as a timely and strategic move.

The party is ready to welcome new entrants committed to rescuing Nigeria.

“With prominent figures like Malami joining us, the ADC in Kebbi is more prepared than ever to deliver an alternative to the ruling party,” she said.

Truth Live News reports that Malami officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, citing the party’s failure to address worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and governance issues.

According to him, the ADC-led coalition is the pathway to the change Nigerians are yearning for.

The ADC-led coalition has also announced former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as interim leaders, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yar Buga, however, reiterated her personal commitment to the party’s mission, saying she would step down from her position if it would serve the broader interest of the ADC and the coalition.

“If the leadership decides that a change is necessary, I’m ready to comply,” she stated.
