The United States of America Senator, Jim Risch has said the country (US) will never fail to hold the federal government responsible for failing to protect school children from jihadists and kidnappers.
Risch, who is from Idaho and chairs the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, took to social media to condemn the current administration following the abduction of the Kebbi schoolgirls.
The US senator added that students, particularly schoolgirls, remain at heightened risk of “enslavement, conversion, and ransom”.
“Nigeria has long failed to protect its schoolchildren from jihadist and criminal abductions, and little has changed.
“As the US engages the Nigerian government on the persecution of its most vulnerable citizens, we will continue to hold them accountable,” Risch said on his X.
