The Kwara State Government has sealed off some extra moral coaching centers and computer and cyber cafes across the state for failing to register, pay annual renewal fees, and comply with other regulatory requirements.
The affected centers were operating illegally without meeting the state’s stipulated guidelines, accoyto a statement by the spokesperson of the state Mass Education Agency, Anigilaje Rasheedat Omolola in ilorin on Friday.
The government had earlier instructed all such centers to register and obtain the necessary permits, but some failed to comply, prompting the enforcement measures.
The sealed centers include Upward Success Academy, Samis Educational Institute, Best Hand Coaching Centre, Leadership Seekers Educational Services, Holla Success Computer Services, Dynamic Coaching Centre, SoftRays Computer Institute, and Cisse Edu Services, among others.
The Executive Director of the Agency for Mass Education, Mallam Yusuf Saka, reiterated that the affected centers will remain closed until they fulfill all the requirements and pay outstanding dues.
The government’s move is aimed at regulating the activities of coaching and learning centers to ensure they operate legally and transparently.
Saka urged proprietors of the affected centers to cooperate with the government in its efforts to boost the state’s revenue and improve educational standards.
