Kylian Mbappé has been crowned the 2024/25 European Golden Boot winner, capping a sensational first season with Real Madrid.

The French superstar secured the prestigious award, given to Europe’s top league scorer, with 31 LaLiga goals, amassing 62 points under UEFA’s coefficient system.

His brace in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad sealed the title, edging out Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres (39 goals, 58.5 points) and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (29 goals, 58 points). LaLiga’s higher coefficient of 2.0, compared to the Primeira Liga’s 1.5, proved decisive in Mbappé’s triumph.
Mbappé’s remarkable campaign also earned him the Pichichi Trophy as LaLiga’s top scorer and the Gerd Müller Trophy for the highest-scoring club season globally.

Scoring 42 goals across all competitions, he shattered Real Madrid debut records previously set by Alfredo Di Stéfano and Ivan Zamorano.

Despite facing criticism early in the season, the 26-year-old’s clutch performances, including a hat-trick in El Clásico, silenced doubters and cemented his status as a global star.

While Gyökeres led the race earlier with his prolific scoring, Mbappé’s consistency in Spain’s top flight and a crucial penalty rebound against Real Sociedad clinched the award. Salah, needing a hat-trick in Liverpool’s final match, managed only one goal.

Mbappé’s Golden Boot adds to his legacy, joining Real Madrid legends like Cristiano Ronaldo. As he eyes the Club World Cup, Mbappé’s hunger for collective glory remains.
