AS Monaco is making waves in the transfer market, offering a two-year contract to French midfielder Paul Pogba, who has been a free agent since his departure from Juventus in December 2024.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 club, fresh off a third-place finish and Champions League qualification, is also in advanced talks to sign Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, aiming to bolster their squad with high-profile talent.

Pogba, 32, is poised for a return to French football after a challenging 18-month doping ban, reduced from four years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ended on March 10, 2025.

The 2018 World Cup winner, who began his career at Le Havre before stints at Manchester United and Juventus, is seen as a potential midfield leader for Monaco.

Negotiations are ongoing, with discussions set to continue over the weekend, as Pogba considers his options, including interest from a La Liga club.

Simultaneously, Monaco is closing in on a loan deal for Fati, 22, with a €12 million buy option and a significant sell-on clause.

The Spanish winger, once hailed as a Barcelona prodigy, has struggled for game time under coach Hansi Flick, making only 11 appearances this season.

Monaco views Fati as a long-term investment to add flair to their attack.

The ambitious double swoop underscores Monaco’s intent to compete at the highest level in Ligue 1 and Europe.

Fans await confirmation of the deals, which could mark a new chapter for both players in the Principality.
