The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority NCAA has suspended the United Nigeria Airlines, Truth Live News has learnt.

The suspension is believed to be related to the airline’s cabin crew diverting an Abuja-bound flight from Lagos to Asaba Airport on Sunday.

According to a source close to the agency, the regulatory body took the dramatic decision on Monday during an emergency meeting at its headquarters in Abuja.

It was learned that during the meeting, the NCAA inspectors were not impressed by the airline’s assertion that its crew was redirected to Asaba due to severe weather at Abuja Airport.

It was learned that all wet-leased aircraft in its fleet would be halted until the inquiry into the event was completed.

The NCAA’s decision was notified to the airline via a letter.
