A staff of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) identified as Adebayo Pelumi is currently on the run after he allegedly killed and butchered a young photographer Aiyepeku Ayo in Lokoja.
Pelumi is said to have carried out the gruesome act in their office where they both edit videos close to Kogi Chieftaincy Lodge near government house on Tuesday.
According to eyewitness account, the duo were doing editing work that night,
Adebayo probably thought no one was around as he called Ayo outside the office and hit him on the head and killed him, buttered his parts into the fridge behind his hilux vehicle.
Although the eyewitness could not scream when he got to know but called the police which they said he was given a hot chase but escaped leaving his dented car.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect who is a staff of the Nigerian Correctional Service Lokoja is married but his wife recently escaped to Abuja when he almost killed the her.
The deceased is said to be a talented photographer and a graduate of the Federal University Lokoja.
The ugly incident threw the community into mourning as the motive of the assailant remains unclear.
Several colleagues and course mates of the deceased have come out to call for justice urging the police to search out the suspect and make him face the wrath of the law.
Authorities are currently searching for Adebayo and urge anyone with information to contact the Kogi State Police.
