The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a search warrant for an alleged notorious drug dealer named Sowunmi Ayodeji Kayode, who is based in Lekki, Lagos. He is currently evading authorities after using his luxury car to intentionally injure an NDLEA officer in order to flee from an impending arrest. The incident occurred during a raid on his residence last weekend.
According to Femi Babafemi, the agency’s spokesperson, on Friday, August 18, the anti-narcotics officers of the NDLEA conducted a search at the home of the wanted drug dealer situated at Number 2/3 Adetola Ayeni close in Lekki, Lagos. This operation was prompted by credible information suggesting his involvement in illegal drug activities within his residence.

“While he was not present on the premises when the operatives initially entered, he returned while the search was ongoing. In a dramatic turn of events, upon his arrival, he drove his car in reverse, intentionally striking down one of the officers. He then proceeded to crash through his gate before colliding with the neighboring compound’s fence.
The impact was so forceful that it even caused the collapse of the adjacent concrete wall. He quickly exited his vehicle and escaped on foot,” explained Babafemi.
A thorough search of his apartment led to the discovery of 10.5 kilograms of a substance known as Loud. The injured NDLEA officer, who was knocked down by the fleeing suspect’s car, sustained extensive injuries and compound fractures in both legs. He is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital.
In response to this unfortunate incident, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), has directed the deployment of appropriate operational resources to locate and apprehend the wanted suspect. Additionally, he has authorized comprehensive medical care for the injured officer, with the goal of ensuring his swift recovery.
