The Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital Chief Medical Director, Professor Dimie Ogoina has been honoured by The Time’s Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
The award of honour came after he announced the resurgence of Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox and the new mode of transmission.
Ogoina, who is the Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases and native of Odi community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was also received by Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state.
Via his official Twitter handle, Governor Diri, while Congratulating him for his achievement said he is a worthy ambassador of Bayelsa State.
The message seen by Truth Live News reads, “Today, I formally received Professor Dimie Ogoina, our Chief Medical Director, Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital for his recognition by The Time’s Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
“Ogoina, a Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases and native of Odi community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was honoured for his novel work in announcing the resurgence of Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox and the new mode of transmission,” he continued.
