The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has warned officers to be professional in dealing with all political parties in the forthcoming local government election in the state.

He urged them to avoid being partisan during a strategic meeting with senior officers of the command.

The forthcoming local government elections in the state are slated for November 1, 2025, and campaign processes have commenced.

“The forthcoming local government elections in the state has been slated for November 1, 2025 and campaign processes have commenced till October 31,”

“Officers are therefore, warned to be professional in dealing with all political parties involved,” Elleman said.

Elleman also reminded them that Eid-el-Kabir is expected to be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025, and directed officers to comply with the operation order drawn for the occasion.

He ordered visibility policing, show of force, and adequate deployment of operational assets and personnel to cover Eid praying grounds in the state for a hitch-free celebration.

The CP commended officers for their efforts in tackling the challenges of thuggery and other vices within the Minna metropolis and other major cities in the state.

“The menace of thuggery is relatively calm,” he said, urging officers to sustain the measures put in place to address these challenges.
