Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have defeated hosts Egypt 4-1 in a penalty shootout to claim third place at the ongoing 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The match, played at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, ended 1-1 after regular time, with goals from B. O. Amole and O. O. H. Hassan.
Nigeria’s victory comes after their semifinal loss to South Africa, while Egypt lost to Morocco in their semifinal match.
