AKWA IBOM, UYO – Nigeria’s Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, has restated his commitment to sustaining peace and political unity in Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of Governor Umo Bassey Eno.
In a post shared on his verified Facebook page, Akpabio said his recent engagements in the state were aimed at strengthening harmony among political and traditional leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the Senate President, he visited the palace of the Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, shortly after arriving at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo.
He told the royal father that peace and unity remain non-negotiable under Governor Umo Eno’s administration, adding that the governor has shown leadership in uniting Akwa Ibom people.
“I reiterated my commitment to a peaceful and united Akwa Ibom under the leadership of our Governor, Pastor Umo Eno,” Akpabio stated in his post.

The Senate President further assured the royal fathers of his full support for the governor’s return to the Hilltop Mansion in 2027, describing Eno’s administration as a model of inclusive governance.
Akpabio also attended the funeral service of Deaconess Eno Usoro, mother of the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ms. Emem Usoro, and prayed for the repose of her soul.
At the reception held after the service, Akpabio declared that the people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District would stand firmly behind Governor Eno’s re-election bid.

“There is no, and there will be no opposition to his ambition in Ikot Ekpene, which is my Senatorial District,” he said.
The Senate President used the occasion to express appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their support in his emergence as Senate President.
He thanked the Vice President for honoring an Akwa Ibom daughter by attending the funeral and for identifying with the people of the state during the ceremony.
