Iniobong Edo Ekim, commonly known as Ini Edo, a well-known Nollywood actress, has spoken candidly about her marital regrets.
She regrets walking down the aisle, said the award-winning actress and movie producer in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
On November 29, 2008, Ini Edo wed American-born businessman Philip Ehiagwina, though the union lasted only five years before they separated in 2013.
Ini Edo acknowledged that choosing to settle down at the time wasn’t the best choice when asked why she regrets doing so.
“I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make,” she said.
She, however, noted that she would give marriage another shot “if the right person comes along.”
She further explained why she chose to have a child via surrogacy.
“I chose surrogacy because I had experienced several miscarriages, and I simply got tired of trying.
“I don’t have a husband, so I thought, why not have a child for myself, whether I have a husband or not? What other options do I have? And I wanted the child to be biologically mine. Thankfully, my eggs are viable, so I went ahead with it.”
