The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has buried one of its officers, Oluwatosin Sunday, who was shot death in an ambush by suspected kidnappers in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Recall that Sunday was among the eight operatives of the Corps shot death during an attack on the convoy of Chinese expatriates working with BUA Cement Company last Friday.
An expatriate, a Chinese national, was kidnapped while four of his compatriots were rescued from their abductors.
The fallen officer attached to the Ondo State Command of the NSCDC was buried on Tuesday in his hometown of Isua Akoko, Akoko, South-East Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the burial, the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar, described the late Sunday and his colleagues as heroes who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
Abubakar, represented by the Ondo Commander, Oluyemi Ibiloye, assured the bereaved family that the perpetrators of the “heinous crime” would be tracked down and brought to justice.
“For fighting and paying the supreme price at Okpella, your memories shall be honoured by us living ours with purpose, pride, and gratitude. Adieu IC Oluwatosin Sunday,” he added.
