NYSC: Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the service year of 11 corps members in Katsina State due to various offenses committed.

This decision was made in accordance with the NYSC by-laws, as disclosed by the state NYSC Coordinator, Ibrahim Sa’idu, during the passing-out parade of the 2024 Batch “A” Stream II corps members.

Represented by the Assistant Director of Human Resource Management, Allen Charles Chisome, Sa’idu stated that the extensions were in line with the NYSC by-laws.

Among the 11 corps members, three were female and eight were male.

In contrast, 859 corps members successfully completed their service without any disciplinary issues and were praised by Sa’idu for their exemplary behaviour.

During the ceremony, three outstanding corps members – Adanu Theresa Onyeche, Sunday Bose Aladi, and Abdul Fatai Usman Isyaka – received state awards for their exceptional performance.

A minute of silence was also observed in honor of a corps member who passed away during the service year.

The NYSC Coordinator encouraged corps members to utilize the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training they received to achieve self-sufficiency.

He also expressed gratitude to the Katsina State government for its hospitality and security support for corps members.
