Obaseki Hosts South-South Governors in BRACED Commission Meeting

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, is set to host the BRACED Commission Governors’ Council Meeting on January 18, 2024, in Benin City. The meeting will bring together the Governors of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta States, under the auspices of the BRACED (Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, and Delta) Commission.

 

Established in 2010, the BRACED Commission aims to foster economic cooperation and regional integration among the South-South States, ultimately improving the standards of living for the region’s inhabitants.

 

As the Chairman of the BRACED Commission Governors’ Council, Governor Obaseki will lead discussions on revitalizing and strengthening the commission, aligning with the collective economic development and integration goals of the South-South region.

 

Truth Live News gathered that the meeting will focus on critical issues, including the security of lives and property within the region. Additionally, participants will explore ways to enhance the commission’s knowledge-sharing initiatives and peer-review mechanisms.
