Obaseki Mourns Lady Helen Owie, Commiserates with Senator Rowland Owie

Former Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Lady Helen Owie, wife of former Senator Rowland Owie, describing her as a virtuous and compassionate woman who contributed significantly to the development of her community.

In a condolence message, Obaseki extended heartfelt sympathies to Senator Owie, whom he referred to as a “dear brother,” and the entire Owie family, praying for strength and comfort in this difficult time.

“I am deeply saddened by the painful news of the passing of Lady Helen Owie,” the governor said. “A virtuous, kind, graceful, and compassionate mother, Lady Helen was a rare gem who espoused strong family values and embodied the finest qualities of motherhood.”

Obaseki praised Lady Helen’s unwavering support for her husband throughout their over five decades of marriage, noting her role as a pillar of strength in Senator Owie’s public service journey.

“She stood faithfully beside her husband, serving as a source of peace and support in his efforts towards building a better Nigeria and advancing the causes of the people of Edo State, especially in the Edo South Senatorial District,” he added.

The former governor described Lady Helen as a beacon of hope and unity, known for her wisdom, peaceful nature, and generosity.

“She will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind heart, conviviality, and love for others. She will be sorely missed,” Obaseki stated.

He concluded by praying that God grants Senator Owie and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
