The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, has joined millions of well-wishers in celebrating the revered Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, on the occasion of his birthday and ninth coronation anniversary.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo lauded the Benin Monarch for his unwavering commitment to the preservation of Edo’s rich cultural heritage and his distinguished leadership since ascending the ancient throne of his forefathers.
The Governor described the Oba as a “unique and visionary monarch” whose reign has been defined by peace, development, and a tireless pursuit of unity and progress within the Benin Kingdom and Edo State at large.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Edo State, I convey my regards and prayers to our Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, on his birthday and ninth coronation anniversary,” Okpebholo said. “The Oba’s wisdom, diplomatic finesse, and dedication to the welfare of his people remain a beacon of inspiration to all of us in government.”
He further commended the monarch’s proactive role in promoting peace, combating societal ills, and fostering harmony among residents of Edo State, noting that the Oba’s influence continues to serve as a moral and cultural compass for his administration’s New Edo Agenda.
Governor Okpebholo prayed for the Oba’s continued good health, strength, and long life on the throne, assuring the Benin Royal Palace of his unwavering respect and cooperation.
“I pledge my continued respect and support to the Benin Royal Palace and will work tirelessly with His Royal Majesty to ensure a prosperous future for all Edo citizens,” the Governor concluded.
