Former Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election, Bamidele Akingboye, has died after an incident at his Lagos residence. He was 60.
Akingboye reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained last Wednesday after falling from the balcony of his home in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos. Allegations have since emerged that one of his wives may have pushed him during a domestic dispute. The woman alleged to be involved has not been named publicly.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. Akingboye is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
