‘One Of Dead States In Football Is C’River’ – Citizens React To Sports Minister Post

Some followers of the Nigeria Minister of Sports Development Sen John Owan Enoh, on Facebook page have called on him to revamp football in Cross River State.

They made the call while reacting on the recent post by the minister flanked by the Southampton Powered Community Hub delegation in his office.

The people observed that Cross River is one of the dead states in football and it should be the area of concentration.

Victor Ojong, one of his followers wrote while praising him: ” Fantastic sir, please Cross River State should be the area of concentration because sports seems not to be working anymore, keep doing what you know sir.”

Thomas Onun, another follower wrote while praising the minister: “Great work you’re doing, I would like to enroll in the Coach category.”

Also, Mokanya John, in the comments section wrote: “Please remember Cross River State because is one of the dead states in football.”

Meanwhile, In the meeting with the Southampton Powered Community Hub delegation, minister said they discussed on fostering grassroots football development to guarantee the future of sports in the country at all levels.

He said that grassroot football plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Nigerian football and the lives of our sportsmen and women.

Sen Enoh said In fact, “the Hub affiliated with Southampton FC of England have other partners including Ed Kilby, Southampton FC Football Development Coordinator; Ben Sharp, Football and Sports Coach; and David Doherty, CEO, TNUK.

In addition, he said that Currently, they have hubs running in Abuja and Lagos with plans underway to start in Port Harcourt and Calabar.

Thus, the Minister wrote via his official Facebook page that as a government, they are giving the hub the needed support.

Accordingly, through E-Learning, the hub seeks to train on-site, young players, referees and coaches who would be gainfully employed in the hubs.

He explained that the hub would be operating in the various communities in Nigeria and ultimately become sport’s export.

Sen Enoh said that they are passionate about addressing fundamental issues from the root, and nose for grassroot Sports development.”

He continued that they are open to more significant partnerships for the development of Sports in Nigeria.

Nevertheless, Truth Live News gathered that Sen Enoh is a native of Etung LGA of Cross River State Central Senatorial District, whose headquarters are in the town of Effraya Community, South South Nigeria.
