Onome Ebi is poised to establish a groundbreaking achievement in the Guinness World Records.

The prestigious organization is preparing a plaque for Onome Ebi, the captain of the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s national women’s football team.

She is set to make history as the first player ever to participate in six FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Her remarkable journey began with her initial World Cup appearance at the age of 20 in 2003, followed by subsequent tournaments in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and now in 2023, to be held in New Zealand and Australia.
In addition to this remarkable feat, Onome Ebi holds the distinction of being the oldest player in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Her impressive career and longevity continue to inspire awe and admiration.

Born on May 8, 1983, Onome Ebi is a Nigerian professional footballer who currently serves as a center-back for the Nigerian club Abia Angels as well as the national women’s team.

In 2019, she made history as the first African footballer to participate in five FIFA World Cup tournaments.

The determination of Nigerians to break Guinness World Records is evident, following the recent accomplishment by Hilda Baci. Onome Ebi’s impending record will undoubtedly be the pinnacle of these endeavors.

It may take decades before such a record can be surpassed, making her achievement all the more significant.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Onome Ebi, the 40-year-old defensive commander, for this remarkable milestone in her career.
