Osita Okechukwu, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has warned intending presidential candidates, including Atiku Abubakar, that President Bola Tinubu will likely seek re-election in 2027.
Okechukwu emphasized that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was correct in stating that there is “no vacancy” in Aso Rock in 2027.
According to Okechukwu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made a grave mistake by breaching the rotation convention, which has divided the party irretrievably.
He noted that this breach has produced a lasting impact, much like the “Wike masquerade,” which cannot be easily forgotten.
Okechukwu predicted that the PDP will struggle to play a robust role as the main opposition party in the near future due to the greed of its leaders.
He emphasized that President Tinubu’s economic policies will start yielding positive results before the 2027 presidential election, easing the current economic hardship.
The former Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) pointed out that President Tinubu has prepared the ground for Foreign Direct Investments, having built strong diplomatic relationships with both Western and Eastern countries.
This, Okechukwu believes, will help cushion the economic challenges and attract loan-backed projects.
