Three years after the bombing incident that happened at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, the federal government has finally decided to arraign the suspects behind the incident.
Recall that the incident happened on June 5, 2022 on Sunday, during a church service and over 40 persons were said to have lost their lives and several others injured in the process.
Recall also that the arrest of the suspects was announced by the then Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor.
The suspects to be arraigned are: Idris Omeiza, Al-Qasim Idris, Jamiu Abdulmalik, Abdulhaleem Idris, and Momoh Abubakar.
The individuals will be tried before Justice Obiorah Egwatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, after the federal government filed nine counts of terrorism against the five defendants.
The attack had been linked to the activities of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), as disclosed by the National Security Council.
