Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Churches, has addressed a viral video showing him pointing an object that many believed was a firearm at a driver in Lagos traffic.
The incident occurred when the driver recognized the cleric and wound down his car window, prompting Adefarasin to point the object.
Adefarasin has now released a statement clarifying the content of the clip.
He said, “Dear Family, trusting that this meets you well, winning and on top of the tests of life. You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm.”
Adefarasin assured the public that the object was not a firearm and that he did not point it at anyone.
He stated, “I want to assure you of this — that, that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone.”
The pastor acknowledged the concern caused by the accusation and promised to address it during his 9:00 am service.
Adefarasin thanked his followers for their patience and understanding.
