Leading Nigerian gospel ministers Pastor Jerry Eze, Nathaniel Bassey, and Dunsin Oyekan have offered prayers for Nigeria following reports of intensified attacks on Christian communities in parts of the country, incidents some groups have described as “Christian genocide.”

Pastor Jerry Eze, convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers & Declarations (NSPPD), reacted passionately to the killings, declaring in a public message that “enough is enough” and calling on God to expose and judge those behind the violence. In his fiery prayers today, he prayed to God for the release of the school children who were kidnapped yesterday and also ask God to bring judgment on the perpetrators of these dastardly killings.

Worship leader Nathaniel Bassey also expressed deep sorrow over the rising death toll. In a sombre post on X, he lamented the “killings, the blood, the silence,” he also called on God to have mercy on Nigeria. His message captured widespread grief and frustration as many citizens question the lack of decisive steps from authorities to halt the violence.

Minister Dunsin Oyekan likewise joined in prayer, using his X page to urge Christians to intercede for the nation. He called for divine protection and national healing, echoing the mood of distress and uncertainty felt across communities affected by the attacks.

The reactions from the three ministers come amid renewed alarm from churches, civil society organisations, and international observers over the wave of targeted killings.
