Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu is close to sealing a permanent transfer to Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor.
The Black Sea Storm had previously attempted to sign Onuachu from Southampton last summer but failed to meet the club’s valuation.
Onuachu had an impressive loan stint with Trabzonspor in the 2023/24 season, scoring 15 goals in 21 league appearances.
Following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, Trabzonspor have renewed their interest in the striker, with talks between both clubs reaching an advanced stage.
Trabzonspor have offered €5 million for Onuachu, who cost Southampton €18 million when he joined from KRC Genk in January 2023.
Personal terms have reportedly been agreed between Onuachu and Trabzonspor, with the player awaiting the green light to travel to Turkey for medicals.
The deal is expected to be finalized soon, with Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan confirming ongoing negotiations.
Onuachu’s potential transfer would mark a significant move for the striker, who has struggled to find form with Southampton since joining from Genk.
